Did you know it’s National Reading Group Month?

Tim Burton + Johnny Depp + books = very interesting book group

Actually, as much as I’d like to say yes, yes, it’s on my calendar in big red letters… I didn’t know this. But, I learned about it, so I’m sharing the news that October is National Reading Group Month from the Women’s National Book Association. Now that we all know this, I’d like to mention something that you may or may not be aware of: our Book Club in a Bag program here at St. Louis Public Library.

If you like discussing books with friends and would like to start a book group, or even if you already belong to a book group (or two), we can help! Our Book Clubs in a Bag are (typically) made up of fifteen copies of a book, and we put these books in a sturdy canvas bag with a discussion guide. We’ve done the hard work—you just pick up the bag, give the books out to your group, and enjoy! We have all kinds of books, with a wide variety of titles in fiction and nonfiction. And, you get the bag for 6 weeks (which is usually plenty of time to distribute the books, read, discuss, and return them to us). Click the above link for more information, or call us at (314) 539-0396 and we’ll be happy to walk you through the process!
